Our Mission
For decades, the Bharatiya Temple has successfully run programs to engage the youth of the community, led by the Bal Bharati Committee. Motivating the young people who have grown up in the community to stay engaged over the long term and continue contributing their time and knowledge to the full range of temple activities and operations.
Objectives

Develop a pipeline of homegrown talent capable of managing the temple’s operations

Involve young people in long-range strategic planning to ensure that their future needs and perspectives are considered

Provide support, manpower and youth insight to all the temple’s working committees and operations

Foster life and career skills in young people

Responsibilities of Youth Members
-
Youth members need to have an interest and passion in being part of volunteer activities at the temple.
-
Active involvement in attending meetings, ideating activities, engaging in planning events and integrating Balbharti activities with the temple umbrella is a primary requirement.

Youth volunteers work under the guidance of the Adult Balbharti committee members and would be expected to spend approximately 1 hour on average a week to support the committee events/activities.

Engaged parents to support the youth members journey in this initiative is a plus.

IS THERE A FEE TO JOIN BALBHARTI?

No. However, there is a requirement that parents of youth members be temple members in order for the kids to join Balbharti.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE TEMPLE?

There are many activities conducted by the BalBharati team and the temple. Few major one’s include: Basant Bahar, Anand Bazaar, Youth Prasad, Youth Competitions, and more. Other fun events are Holi, Garbha and Desi Fusion, which are fundraisers we organize ourselves.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL MEETING LIKE?

Meetings are mostly on Sundays on a monthly basis. BalBharati event meetings become more frequent (on a weekly basis) as event schedules happen. Meetings aim to discuss status and progress on an upcoming event, sign up for service projects, discuss fundraisers, and more.You will be notified when there is a meeting via email.
